Meet Mrs. Hill...

My name is Mrs. Hill. I am a graduate of LSU, but was born and raised in Geneva, Illinois (outside Chicago).  I teach fourth grade at Cedarcrest-Southmoor Elementary in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am so excited to be teaching fourth grade this year with fellow colleagues; Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Llaneza, and Miss Abrusley.  These are the most creative, hardworking, and loving teachers I have ever known.  I am blessed to work with them everyday.

I have an amazing husband who is a constant presence and role model for the students and he's the reason I'm able to be the teacher I am.  I also have my baby Tootie (a French Bulldog who makes special appearances on our website) and who is our class mascot.   I have been teaching fourth grade at Cedarcrest for seven years. I have loved every second, good and bad because I have been given the opportunity to grow along with my students.  I recently was awarded the Milken Educator’s Award.  This was a huge honor, and I would like to thank my family, colleagues, friends, and students for helping me achieve this prestige honor.  I am currently perusing my National Board certification, but am not stressed because I know my students are creative and willing to work hard for me this year as I dive into this endeavor.  I am looking forward to this year, and can't wait to see the places we will go in our classroom.
