SOCIAL STUDIES
The Great State Race is on! Students will be quized every Thursday on the location of specific states according to region. Once a students get a 100% for that region he/she will move on to the next region.
Our core focus will be Revolutionary War and important leaders during this time. We will be examining how life was for colonist over 400 years ago. We will also be comparing and contrasting life then to life today. Your Social Studies Learning Log is a great resource for this unit!
SCIENCE
Our comprehension focus this week will be on Animal Life Cycles. Make sure homework is complete each night becasue there will be a Comprehension Quiz at the end of the week based off of the homework.
MATH
We are exploring GEOMETRY and angles. Students will be identifying solid and plane figures. They will also be classifying various shapes in accordance to their properties. Students should be practicing the Fantastic Five Strategy!!!!
Our Fact Fluency Race is on. We are starting from basic addition facts and plan on accelerating all the way through division! Keep practicing at home everynight with flashcards or writing out your facts.
READING
Students are taking the Practice LEAP test everyday this week in the morning so there is no reading story. Please make sure your child gets to school on time so they don't miss testing.
SPELLING & GRAMMAR
Spelling and Grammar Test are given every Thursday starting next week. No Spelling or Grammar this week.
